Your landing page is getting traffic but nobody's converting. You've got a nice design, clear copy, and a prominent call-to-action. So what's wrong? Usually one of five predictable killers that are easy to fix once you see them.
1. Your Value Prop Is Below the Fold
A user lands on your page and sees a hero section with just your logo and "Welcome." They have to scroll to understand what you actually do. By then, they're gone.
Fix it: Your hero section should answer the question in three seconds: What is this? Who is it for? Why should I care? Lead with your biggest benefit, not your company tagline.
2. No Social Proof Above the Fold
You're asking people to trust you, and you've given them zero reasons to. No testimonials, no user count, no logos of companies using your product. They're defaulting to distrust.
Fix it: Add one social proof element immediately below your CTA. A review, a stat, a logo. "Used by 10,000+ companies" converts better than no proof at all.
3. Too Many CTAs Competing for Attention
Your page has a signup button in the hero, a "Learn More" button, a "Schedule Demo" button, and a chat widget. Users are paralyzed by choice and click nothing.
Fix it: One primary CTA per section. If they're not ready to sign up at the top, give them something else to click—a guide, a case study. But make it clear what you want them to do.
4. Your Page Is Slow
You've tested on fiber internet. Your users are on 4G. The page takes 6 seconds to load. They've already bounced.
Fix it: Compress images aggressively. Use a CDN. Remove heavy scripts above the fold. Test on real networks. A one-second improvement in load time can increase conversion 7%.
5. No Mobile Optimization
Your desktop page is beautiful. Your mobile page is unreadable—tiny buttons, broken layout, unskippable video. Most of your traffic is mobile.
Fix it: Design mobile-first. Make buttons at least 44 pixels. Test the conversion funnel on a real phone. If your CTA button isn't thumb-sized and easy to hit, you're leaving money on the table.
Fix these five things and watch your conversion rate jump.
